The festival welcomes string players and pianists age 6-18 (NYSSMA levels 5 + 6 are strongly encouraged to apply). The festival features individualized attention for all students with an intensive chamber music experience throughout the week. Students will be placed in chamber groups according to their age and level. Students also participate in chorus, cello choir, music theory, and one of 3 string orchestras. Guest artist Kee-Hyun Kim, cellist of the Parker String Quartet, will give an evening masterclass to selected groups.

On Wednesday evening we will have a pizza party; all festival students & families are invited to stay, eat & enjoy the evening together! Following the pizza party, selected chamber music groups will perform in the masterclass. Everyone is welcomed and encouraged to attend. The festival will culminate in performances given by all groups on Friday, August 23 at 6:45pm. Family and friends are invited to join us for the concert! This summer we are offering a Conducting Symposium given by Maestro Leon Gregorian, Distinguished Professor Emeritus at Michigan State University, for interested students. Experienced conducting students welcome!

Tuition for the festival is $675 per person (or $625 per person if registered and paid in full by May 15, 2019). Families registering 2 or more siblings can subtract 5% from the total registration.
Participation in all 5 days is required. Scholarships available.
